East Carib hosts successful "Hope Beyond Boundaries" cricket event in Dominica
POSTED: 04 Feb 2018
Seventh- day Adventist Church in Dominica did it again. This time, "Hope Beyond Boundaries", an initiative of Pastor Dayle Haynes, Personal Ministries, Sabbath School and Community Services Director of the East Caribbean Conference, brought together thousands of people throughout Dominica ( to include, parliamentary representatives, ambassadors, and media houses) to view a friendly cricket match between the Seventh- day Adventists and the kalinagos cricketers.
This keenly contested match signalled that although the Kalinago people were battered severely during the passage of Hurricane Maria, they remain resilient.
The Seventh-day Adventist cricket team, although supported by four Barbadians West Indian
crickerters, Dwayne Smith, Sherwin Campbell, Kemar Smith and Andy Payne, was placed second. We thank God for the victory of the Kalinago people. They were assured that although they may have lost their material possession, they are still strong and courageous and did not lose their skills.
Pastor Haynes must be commended for his dynamism, creativity, interest in the welfare of Dominicans. This community impact programme which brought thousands of Dominicans together from
various religious background, spoke volumes for the SDA Church.
you Pastor Haynes for the keen interest that you continue to show to Dominicans in the recovery process.
